Cornerstone and Milledgeville Credit Unions Announce Merger
FREEPORT, IL - On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, the members of Milledgeville Community Credit Union (MCCU) unanimously approved a merger with Cornerstone Credit Union (CCU), based in Freeport, Illinois. MCCU has been serving the Milledgeville Community of Carroll County for over 60 years with basic savings and loan services, and currently has 800 members. The merger will be effective July 31, 2018. The existing MCCU office located 334 N Main Ave will remain open and become a new branch of CCU, with the addition of an ATM.

With the two credit unions newly combined, Cornerstone Credit Union will serve nearly 15,000 members with an asset size of $120 million. CCU membership is open to anyone living or working in the following northwest Illinois and southern Wisconsin counties. Illinois: Boone, Bureau, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Lee, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago Counties; Wisconsin: Green and Rock Counties. With service centers in Freeport, Sterling and South Beloit, Cornerstone will bring MCCU members expanded products and services.
